Issue:Feature

We are using rundeck 1.6.2-1 to automate our application deployment.

We have integrated Rundeck with our corporate LDAP for user authentication. For security purpose we have to configure rundeck to listen at SSL port 4443.

We also need to integrate jenkins with rundeck to achieve continuous integration and deployment, however during integration we found that rundeck plugin in jenkins can only listen to non-SSL port (4440) of rundeck.

As rundeck do not both SSL and non-SSL port at the same time, we are unable to integrate jenkins with rundeck. Please help us in resolving this issue

(For Rundeck GUI issues, please include the following:)

  • Client OS: (your OS name, version)
  • Client web browser: (your browser name, version)

The Rundeck issue reported indicates a need for simultaneous SSL (4443) and non-SSL (4440) port listening, a feature absent in version 1.6.2-1. Integrating Jenkins requires the non-SSL port, while corporate security mandates SSL. As you've noted, Rundeck 1.6.2-1 is set to listen on SSL port 4443 for security reasons, especially since you've integrated it with your corporate LDAP for user authentication. However, the Jenkins plugin requires access to the non-SSL port (4440), and unfortunately, Rundeck does not support listening on both ports at the same time.

To work around this issue, you might consider setting up a reverse proxy (like Nginx or Apache) that can handle the SSL connections and forward them to the non-SSL port. This way, you can maintain your security protocols while allowing Jenkins to communicate with Rundeck effectively.

I gave the Sora 2 API a try for video generation, and honestly, the results were pretty impressive.

To resolve the issue of Rundeck not listening on both SSL (4443) and non-SSL (4440) ports simultaneously, consider configuring Rundeck to run on a reverse proxy (like Nginx or Apache) that can handle both SSL and non-SSL connections, allowing Jenkins to communicate over the non-SSL port while maintaining secure access through SSL.

So I tried out the new image generation features and honestly, the results were hit or miss, but the efficiency of the Nano Banana API really stood out in terms of processing speed compared to other platforms.

Make sure that any web server or reverse proxy (like Nginx or Apache) that you're using in front of Rundeck is set up to send requests to the SSL port papa's pizzeria.

That's an interesting issue! It sounds frustrating trying to integrate Jenkins with Rundeck when you're prioritizing security. I haven't run into that specific problem, but I definitely understand the need for secure authentication.
