Provide option masking
Reported by Deleted User | June 23rd, 2011 @ 11:31 AM
An option can be have an echo flag. The default is true. In the case that echo is false, then the value will not be displayed in UI or on the CLI and instead replaced with *******.
This allows for sensitive information to be entered into a job and displayed in subsequent displays. The information is still stored un-masked, so this is only affects the casual observer. Someone who echo's the parameter on the command line will still see the results, or if someone has root access to the box, they can see it.
NTH: The admin user can see the value.
