Resource model providers - authentication enhancement request

I cannot use the resource model provider concept because rundeck does not seem to have the option to login to a remote URL to retrieve node information.
I am trying to pull node information from Zenoss, but Zope requires a login to access the node information.
I use the following to pull the information now using a script
curl
http://"username":"password"@"hostname":8080/zport/dmd/Systems/Batch/getMyDeviceList
Would it be possible for rundeck to the use the same method to pull information?
