Documentation on how to pass options between jobs
Reported by Kevin Nash | July 6th, 2011 @ 02:18 PM | in Rundeck 1.3 (closed)
There is no documentation on how to format the field "Enter the commandline arguments for the Job:" when you want to pass parameters from Job A calling Job B with option providers. Perhaps this could be more clear in the documentation?

In Ukraine, many huge organizations like Apple, Intel, Nokia, eBay, and different monsters enlist designers for programming advancement. Seaward coding in Ukraine is viewed as excellent, so Ukraine has turned into a decent country for rethinking. Other than seaward designing compensation in Ukraine is lower than of those of a similar skill in the USA or UK.

Using quotation marks: If the parameter value contains spaces or special characters, it is often necessary to enclose it in quotation marks. For example: "--param1 'value with spaces'".
Using escape characters: If the parameter value itself contains quotation marks or other special characters, you may need to use escape characters to ensure proper interpretation. For example: "--param1 'value with "quotes"'". Bitlife -

Formatting the "Enter Command Line Arguments for Job" field and using optional providers may not be clear in the official Rundeck documentation. In this case, it is best to consult the Rundeck documentation and support documentation, including user forums and other online resources, The Password Game to learn how to format and use the field properly. Exactly.
