Front end issues. (1.1-0.39)

Doing some testing a demoing today and picked up on the following front end issues, didn't think it was worth opening up seperate tickets for since they may be closely related. These tests were done on Firefox 3.6.3 (portable) and IE8.

improved the javascript for item 3), so node tooltips shouldn't be sticky anymore
