remote fetch of resources.xml can clobber local node entry

If your local rundeck server node is not defined in the resources.xml retrieved from project.resources.url, then you are left without the local server node.
The Nodes interface should auto-insert the node definition for local node if it doesn't exist in the resources.xml from disk
